Tolly Turtle is a little nervous about his first day of kindergarten. Most importantly, he doesn't want to be late. His fears leave him as he meets people, like the crossing guard and the school security person, along the way. Mother and biology major, Larraine Gowans BS, takes an anthromorphic approach to helping kids transition in their multistage life journey. Tolly Turtle is the first in this animal kingdom adventure. Kids getting ready for kindergarten, as in this book, will easily identify with Tolly and face the first day with confidence. Kids in kindergarten will relate and mark confidence as they share social mile stones with others.
Illustrator Joe G. WItherspoon makes his children's book debut as his colorful artwork brings the animal kingdom into a childlike world..
