They provide more stable performance and reduced thumbstick drift compared to the original carbon potentiometer-based or Hall Effect thumbstick mechanisms. SmartPad Claw controllers also come with Battle Beaver's patented Smart Triggers & Smart Bumpers. The Triggers and Bumpers have been improved by converting the traditional squish or pull of these inputs to an instant 100% activation "click" that feels identical to a computer mouse.
SmartPads additionally have converted Smart Face Buttons (Triangle, Circle, Cross, Square) and D-Pad for separate digital inputs utilizing the same 'clicks' in the Triggers and Bumpers.
Additionally, the PS4 SmartPad Claw controller is upgraded with USB-C connectivity. This upgraded port on the controller allows for faster charging, provides a more stable wired connection, and reduces cable clutter.
