All the while in pursuing the villainous High Council, Mikhail Joan and Steven Wolford forge a tenuous alliance with the avians to seek out help from the Livarnu emperor, their last bastion of hope in a world gone mad.
Behind it all lurks an even greater evil that seems to be slyly guiding the hands of fate, causing both prophecy and Script to falter as established empires that have lasted for centuries are reaching their breaking point.
