Product Description

by Glynis Scott (Author)

CITIZEN OF NOWHERE argues passionately that it is possible to be a citizen of the world with a single passport. Using an autobiographical framework Glynis Scott relates how reading and travel can broaden the mind, inspire the imagination and develop one's understanding and appreciation of other people and places. Through travel you discover that "the world is full of really nice people" and if you can't travel, just read.

GLYNIS ANTHONY SCOTT was born during WW2 and grew up in the small coastal town of Wells-next-the-Sea in north Norfolk. She received a B.A. degree in English from University College London and many years later an M.A in Education from Oxford Brookes University. After marrying in 1964 she followed her husband's career in the UN and World Bank, teaching English in Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Washington D.C. where she spent almost thirty years at the Washington International School teaching International Baccalaureate courses. On retirement she and her husband drove round South America, from London to Sydney and around the Mediterranean before returning to her childhood roots in Norfolk.
