The youngest daughter stayed behind and married a neighbor. Over the years these related families on both sides of the Atlantic found themselves involved in world events and changing borders.

Fred Wascura grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania and Chicago. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, he has lived in Florida for over 40 years.
