Product Description

by Simon Upward (Author)

Australia is invaded, enemy supply ships go aground on the south coast. The invaders come ashore to salvage weapons and supplies. Friendhaven is attacked by a tank column, which they ambush. Using captured weapons and a decoy convoy, with allies they attack and destroy the invading navy. The Prime Minister and the head of the Australian army visit Friendhaven. The Australian Government is convinced to start encouraging other areas to adopt systems proposed by Friendhaven. A mega fire devastates half the state. Due to their underground infrastructure and organised communities, Friendhaven, Boobialla and Eden survive. People from the coast help the tablelands recover from the fire and begin to establish new lodges at Windhaven. The tablelands are reseeded with food forests. The rangers go into this new wilderness to protect the emerging forests. Tommy Hawk and his family struggle for two years to reach Friendhaven. The Hawk and his lover Sprinter are chosen to represent Windhaven at the Peace Games. Five representatives are chosen to attend the University of Peace and Sustainability. Tommy Hawk joins with Jenda, Wundlefunk Lorikeet, Fiderloon Neverchance and the Prism to become the famous five friends. Together they have magical powers of prophecy and the ability to surmount almost impossible odds. A coup within the Government invites the invading army back to Australia, they occupy the capital. The Prime Minister escapes the city and warns Friendhaven of the upcoming attack, giving them time to prepare to face an overwhelming force.
