Sherrad a.k.a Rod had the notion that he would take control of his own destiny instead of letting the prison walls, and barbwires get the best of him. Rod used his time sitting behind bars to create an imagination on the inside, to project on the outside. He released his freshman novel while incarcerated October 31st, 2011. After serving six years in the state penitentiary, he was released on July 26, 2012. Failure is not an option for Rod, and he is in full pursuit of becoming a young successful Black Author and Entrepreneur. Rod has become one of the most in-demand youth speakers in Detroit.
