WAVES ARE CALLING is a tale where the protagonist Nick Bridger shuns parental and societal norms to follow his true passion of wanting to live in California, stay true to his studies in an effort to gain admission into Coast College, and partake in his passion of surfing. The story covers parent/child generational gaps, the delineation between the blue nose East and the frontier West, cliquish groups that demoralize high school students, and how surfing helped Nick find himself through all of this.
