Enclosed is a collection of stories about outstanding whitetail deer taken over the past 20 years. I have had the opportunity to interview each hunter and put to paper his telling of the actual hunt. Many will have you sitting on the edge of your seat as you follow each hunter and his quarry to the final conclusion Each of these stories has been printed in either Buckmasters Whitetail Magazine or RACK Magazine at some point in the past 15 years.I have had the opportunity to measure some of the largest bucks ever taken by fair chase. Thirty-five of them are right here in this collection. Each story is enhanced with two photographs and a score sheet to help the reader appreciate even more, the caliber of these deer.
Author Biography
Born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, hunting was in my blood from an early age, and that included deer hunting. I was never one to hunt strictly for antlers, but they were a fascination. At the age of fifty, I had the opportunity to become an "Official Scorer" for Buckmasters Trophy Records. I jumped on it and seemed to have a natural instinct for the process. Over the ensuing years, I have "scored" more that 3000 sets of antlers, of which more than 1000 have met the minimum standards for entry into the "Record Book" At some point in the process, I took to writing down the stories that were told me by the hunters while I was scoring their antlers. This led to stories being published and the fun has continued to the present time.
