Mary-Beth Brophy grew up in northern New Jersey and relocated to Southern California at 18. She has a PhD in creative writing from the University of St. Andrews and is a published Kerouac scholar. A longtime Hollywood resident, she has a passion for local history and is the former owner of a walking tour company specializing the mysteries and scandals in Old Hollywood.
