Author Biography

Cecil K. Byrd [1913 - 1997] had a long and distinguished record of service to Indiana University as librarian teacher. He was also President of the University of Cairo from 1974 to 1977. He edited Frank M. Hohenberger's Indiana Photographs and co-authored [with Dorothy C. Collins] Indiana University: A Pictorial History ( both published by Indiana University Press).

Ward W. Moore, a native of Cowden, Illinois, earned three degrees at the University of Illinois in Urbana. He is Professor Emeritus of Physiology and Biophysics and, at the time of his retirement, was an Associate Dean of the Indiana University School of Medicine and Director of its Medical Sciences Program.
