Product Description

by Mark Dorio (Author)

Ufology: A Very Short Introduction presents a serious survey of the study of UFOs and related phenomena. This text provides a good first step toward understanding this very important topic.

Author Biography

Mark Dorio was born during WWII, so he has lived the modern UFO era. He was interested in flying saucers, Martians and Venusians as a kid. As an adolescent he was of the opinion that some sort of extraterrestrial visitors most likely did exist. But it was not until about age 30, after Von Daniken's "Chariots of the Gods," that he began to form a more coherent amd a more mature understanding of Ufology. Mr. Dorio has spent decades reading about and reflecting on UFOs and related phenomena. And, he has spent years discussing ufology with his friends and students. He is a member of MUFON, VUFORS, and CUFOS. He completed an MA in Mathematics at UCLA in 1982 and he completed an MA in Philosophy at UNT in 2001. Today, Mr. Dorio is a professor of Mathematics and Philosophy at Western Nevada Community College. He lives with his wife and their two children in Carson City.
