Author Biography

Eldon J. Epp is Harkness Professor Emeritus of Biblical Literature and Deane Emeritus of Humanities and Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. He joined the University faculty in 1968 and was appointed the Harkness Professor of Biblical Literature in 1971. Epp served as Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences from 1977-85, Acting Dean of Western Reserve College in 1984, and Chair of the Department of Religion from 1985 until 1998. Epp has written, edited, and co-authored a number of books, including Studies in the Theory and Method of New Testament Textual Criticism, A Commentary on the Acts of the Apostles, and The New Testament and Its Modern Interpreters.
