Product Description

by Calmar a. McCune (Author)

The book, The Wharf at Port Townsend Bay, describes an 1869 Makah whale hunt that leads to the discovery of a derelict sailing ship with about 400 dead on board and to a ship log explanation. The story moves to 1982 to describe a father and mother who lavished affection on their son, Michael Storey, who, later, 2008, serves as assistant to the head of the FBI at a point in time when many male high school social study teachers are being killed. The rest of the book describes how Michael Storey, on vacation in Port Townsend, unintentionally solves the cases.

Author Biography

Calmar A. McCune, born June 19, 1939, lived from age two to age eleven on a forty foot Lake Union Dream Boat on Portage Bay in Seattle, Washington, with his parents and a sister, and often times as not, spent weekends anchored in one of the many harbors of Puget Sound. He graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle and later attended the University of Washington and graduated in 1964 from its law school. From 1965 to 1994 he resided in Port Townsend, Washington, and presently lives in Seattle. His hobbies are bushwhacking along mountain rivers looking for gold, contra and Zydeco dancing, and reading about people.
