Product Description

by D. E. Isom (Author)

This is not a commentary, but a series of Bible studies employing the Inductive Study Approach in order to arrive at a knowledge of how the text should be personally applied to one's life. Formatted in a question and answer format, it facilitates the process of observation- what does the text say, interpretation- what does the text mean, and the ultimate goal of application- how should I personally apply the text to my life. In this author's opinion, it is impossible to grasp the whole prophetic picture, and even many of the individual details and milestones, without building firmly on this progressive foundation of first learning Daniel, then the Olivet Discourse, and finally on to Revelation. The number one culprit of error in this area is most often traced to someone placing an over-emphasis on only one of these teachings, or over-realizing a single aspect of just one of them. Revelation cannot be properly understood in isolation from Daniel and the Olivet Discourse. In fact, if the Early Church who first received Revelation had perceived in even the smallest way that it contradicted, made obsolete, or outright replaced even one letter of one word in Daniel and the Olivet Discourse, it would have been soundly rejected no matter what the authorship. The amount of material in Daniel which is recapitulated in Revelation is astounding. Rather than presenting another commentary to document the various views and alternative interpretations of Daniel, these Bible studies at least provide the opportunity to examine the text and personally seek how God would see it realized in our personal life as we begin to experience these events in our lifetime.
