That was until in history class, when we learned that they prayed to the "good God", as opposed to the God of the merciless masters, who gave them strength to fight against their oppressors and lead the people to freedom. We now understand that it was not all true the wrong attributed to them, that people who practiced Voodoo were not necessarily evil, but it was humankind, irrespective of faith, culture or practice.

The story involves the Voodoo Kingdom family, Voodoo King, Voodoo Queen, their son Ogoo and the Voodoo Princess, their daughter (Erzulie Thoya). The Voodoo Princess is blessed with superpowers granted by the spirits that animated her ancestors and goes on a mission to rescue her brother in danger. It all started on the coast of West Africa, where the original Voodoo Prince from the Dahomey kingdom had been captured and taken into slavery in Hispaniola. According to The Book of Good Against Evil, it was written that the people would be taken away from the mother land to this new destination, the promise land.
