Wes Burgess MD, PhD is a lifetime snorkeler and the author of books and professional articles about behavior, biology and ecology, in Scientific American, Oceanus, Ecology, and Animal Behavior. He holds doctorate degrees in Zoology and Medicine. Dr. Burgess received the Purdue Literary Award and the Mead Johnson Award for Excellence in Writing for his publications He has taught at Stanford University, UCLA, and the University of California, Davis, appeared on National Public Radio, television, and in films, and lectured around the world.
