Jeff Barnes is a financial strategist, consultant, and advisor with over a decade of experience working with people and small businesses helping them to better manage and understand the world of finance and insurance. Prior to making the move to the financial services world, Jeff was in the US Navy as an Engineering Supervisor, Scuba Diver, and Nuclear Trained Mechanic. Jeff began pursuing a career as a financial planner and advisor in 2003 only to find that he didn't agree with the traditional model of financial planning. Jeff believes that people should have control of their own money and finances, and be properly educated and trained on how to manage that aspect of their lives, rather than handing it over to an institution and hoping for the best. It is for this reason that Jeff co-founded Self Directed Company and heads the organization as the President & CEO. He has a passion for helping people realize their full potential, and teaching people how to break down the barriers to wealth and success!
