Author Biography
Bette Talvacchia is an art historian and writer. She is Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor Emerita of Art History at the University of Connecticut. Her research has been supported by fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Gallery's CASVA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton, and several appointments at Harvard's Villa I Tatti. She has written and edited numerous books, including Raphael (2007), Sexuality in the Renaissance (1450-1650) (2011), and Taking Positions: On the Erotic in Renaissance Culture (1999).
