Set out to teach geology, being trained in that science, could not because the bible was unclear in technical terms, advised the Almighty that he couldn't teach something that was not understood, and was shown Gen. 2:4&5 the implications of which in an instant solved the riddle. In a space of 3 decades thereafter the technical facts permitting composition of educational site and necessary to this book step by step came home to roost, no effort, all handed to the author as though from above, filling out the technical facts implicated in species pre-existence and revelation - incidentally and concurrently the solar system largely solved - then when climate became a large concern the necessary groundwork was in place
