Product Description

by Elise Himes (Author)

Rachael is just like any other girl... except she was born biologically a boy.
When her family is forced to move due to bullying, she is accepted into a privileged girls' school. Her fantasy quickly becomes a nightmare as rumors spread about one of the new students being transgender. Paranoia, deceit, and backstabbing rule the day as their "witch" will be found, no matter who suffers.
"The Trans-fer Student" takes the analogue of social paranoia in "The Crucible" and the glamorous socialites in "Gossip Girl", combining them to shed light on the experiences and trials of transgender youth. Also included is a commentary on the more recent issue of cyberbullying. It gives compliment and contrast to "Luna" and "Almost Perfect" by being told from the perspective of a trans youth.
UPDATE 7/1/15: The manuscript has been revised to address grammatical errors noticed by readers.
