The Thirsty Dragon is a fantasy poem, initially seen through the eyes of a young boy who imagines himself to be on a knight's quest but then finds himself faced with the reason for his adventure! The subsequent tale reveals another story altogether and then concludes by asking the reader about the moral, with a surprising recommendation! Would you agree?

For better understanding of the poem, there is an appendix included, which gives definitions, explanations, and points for further discussion. It is hoped that Elementary or Middle school teachers, homeschooler parents, tutors, or students themselves can use these developmental notes as a springboard to further subjects or explorations.
