She was born in Prairie Du Chein, Wisconsin in 1946. According to her mother, JoAnn began telling stories at the early age of three. JoAnn met Jerry Parrott and they were married in 1965. They have three sons, Jeff, Chris and Matt, and two daughters, Julie and Bethany. Jerry did the majority of the illustrations in this book with contributions from all five children. JoAnn and Jerry live in Charleston, South Carolina. JoAnn is a prayer leader, writer and communicator using the internet to connect people of prayer within the State of South Carolina and beyond.
