Securing consent from her, he uses the last of his power to turn himself into a dragon of shadows so that he can watch over the young Seole.
Later, stories about a great dragon of black glass that watches over a little princess slowly gain the attention of the people who live there. The teen Seole becomes more and more aware of the mysterious dragon some call the Neither. It doesn't take her long to connect her mother's faerie tales to the most wonderful and enchanting creature she has ever met.
