Product Description

by Timothy Underwood (Author)

What if Mr. Bingley defied convention, ignored Darcy's counsel, and married Jane Bennet straight away? This unexpected twist sets the stage for a delightful Pride and Prejudice variation filled with humor, wit, and romance.

Elizabeth Bennet, ever perceptive, believes she knows the real reason behind Mr. Darcy's attempt to dissuade Bingley: Darcy is selfish, unfeeling, and cruel. Or so she thinks. At Jane and Bingley's wedding, Darcy hints at a change of heart, suggesting he might follow Bingley's example and marry for love. But Elizabeth, protective of her sister and unafraid to speak her mind, confronts him.

However, when their paths cross again at Rosings Park, Elizabeth is forced to reassess her initial impressions. Could she have been wrong about Darcy's character? And what does this mean for her own heart?

Expect low-angst conflict, character growth, and a satisfying resolution in this touching and humorous reimagining of Austen's beloved classic.

Note: The Return is 70,000 words long

Author Biography

I live in California and have read Jane Austen fan fiction regularly for the past five years. Like us all, I've found many great stories and enjoyed many hours of fun as part of the community. I read Pride and Prejudice when I was fifteen and immediately devoured all of Jane Austen's books. Also, I read Jane Eyre and Charlotte Bront?'s other books in the same year. Since then, I've looked for books that re-create the wonderful romantic tension in those great classics. I enjoy reading fan fiction (many types), Tolstoy, and science fiction. I also like anime. In college I studied applied math and economic history. I hope to put a little of what I love about those subjects in my stories, but not so much it is annoying. I am trying to make a living as an author, so please support me if you can. However, several months after publication, I will post my stories on fanfiction.net and A Happy Assembly. So if you do not have much money, or do not believe in paying for books, you will eventually be able to read my stories. I want everything I write to make at least some readers think, 'wow, that was an unusually good story'. Besides writing excellent fiction, my aim is to convince people to donate to Doctors Without Borders and invest their savings in low cost Vanguard mutual funds. A billion people live with medical care that is in many ways worse than what Jane Austen had access to. We can prevent women from dying young like she did.
