Author Biography

Meredith Beardmore, a psychotherapist operating a private practice outside NYC, is also known as "Mend with Mere" from her successful YouTube channel. She's an Ohio State University graduate with a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Meredith specializes in substance abuse treatment, helping family members of addicts, and treating emerging adults with various issues, from identity development to depression. She employs therapeutic approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy, and integrates Mindfulness and Expressive Arts Techniques. A former AOD Coordinator at Iona College, Meredith trains clinicians on substance use and client suicide, enabling them to earn Continuing Education Credits for their professional license renewal in New York State. Her YouTube channel, "Mend with Mere," initially intended for therapy discussions, became a platform for analyzing song lyrics, primarily Taylor Swift's, garnering over 13,000 subscribers and 100,000 hours of watch time. Meredith's work also includes public speaking engagements and contributions to Colman McCarthy's book, Teaching Peace. Having experienced loving individuals with addiction issues, Meredith offers her personal and professional insight through her expressive arts and humor to others in similar situations. She resides with her dog, Reese, and son, Jules, in New Rochelle, NY.
