Product Description

by James L. McKinney (Author)

All that Calvin Bonnett wanted when he came west was a settling place. A place where he and his family could run a small ranch and live in peace. What he found was rustlers and outlaws that left him for dead on a desolate hillside. The killers made two mistakes. They didn't stay to bury him and they didn't make sure no one else was around. They didn't see the lone horseman watching from a distant hillside. He was half Mescalera and half white and one of the men the rustlers had killed was his best friend. When he turned his horse's head toward the trail of the killers, a payoff lay just ahead.

Author Biography

Born in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, James was the youngest of a family of eight children. After finishing high school, four years in the military service, and presently many years in the ministry, he finally delved into his passion for writing. His first book, 'Coming Home Empty' was published in 1997 and since then he has written many more novels/novellas, including a series of six westerns. Although there is a bit of violence in his books, yet, he writes for a 'general' or 'family' readership without any profanity or sexual content in his westerns and adventure stories. He has also adapted some of his books, along with other stories, to feature length screenplays which will soon be available on his website.
