Product Description

by John Bicknell (Author)

John Bicknell's book explores the volatile relationship between Abraham Lincoln and John C. Frémont, the Republican party's first presidential nominee in 1856, in its political and military dimensions. Frémont's is an important--and never dull--story, and Bicknell gives us a better understanding of Frémont, Lincoln, emancipation, and the Civil War.
