Product Description

by Olivia Praise (Author)

The Raspberry Pi Foundation unveiled the fifth edition of the device, which includes several significant improvements.
The Raspberry Pi 4 was released more than four years ago, and for a while, there was a sense that the wait for the Raspberry Pi 5 may go on forever.
But for those looking for a more powerful Pi, the Raspberry Pi foundation has been released with some significant hardware enhancements.
The new I/O chip, which was created internally by the Raspberry Pi Foundation, and the entirely new CPU are the two biggest upgrades.
In addition, the new Raspberry Pi 5 has a far higher power draw than previous models. It is more effective at the same workloads, but it may drive the cores much harder.
This results in two more issues. Initially, you'll probably require better cooling, which might be achieved with an active cooling fan or a large passive heat sink. Second, the Pi 4 power supply will not pump enough power to get the best performance out of the new Pi; you will need a new one.
An RTC chip will also be integrated into the Pi 5. However, in order for this to work in the event that your Pi loses power, an additional battery has to be connected in. The only upside is that you won't have to purchase an RTC chip separately.
