In this book, Wendy will show you how to aim for outstanding and break free of your mental borders in order achieve the financial success you deserve.

Author Biography

For many years, I have been on a mission to help people discover and monetize their authenticity. Business Development is my creative passion. I am also focused on helping marginalized people who are either contemplating starting a business or have already opened their doors but are struggling to learn the tools they need to succeed-tools that aren't covered in any business school curriculum and can take decades to learn on your own. While any business owner or aspiring business owner can benefit greatly from these principles, I'm speaking directly to those who have the added obstacle of marginalization. As an African-American woman, I myself was marginalized both by the corporate world (due to my race and my gender) and by my own community (owing to my determination to be a businesswoman and my middle-class upbringing). Although I was plenty smart, always in the gifted class, honor roll, studying advanced business concepts and strategies, and began my career as an auditor for Price Waterhouse Cooper, I could see that the upper echelon of corporate success was not open to me. So I set out as an entrepreneur because I knew that this was my only option. And despite my so-called intellectual pedigree, I doubted my abilities left and right. I got scared for my very survival, made emotional decisions, and lost everything I had on three separate occasions. In short, I didn't have the mind of an entrepreneur. It was only through sheer force of will and the Grace of God that I kept going and gradually honed the mindset necessary for success. Now I can proudly say that I have managed and developed more than $200 million in projects as an independent business development professional. I'm also a franchisee partner of a $1 million Massage Envy Spa in Downtown Silver Spring, MD and a partner in a 27,000-square-foot outpatient mico-hospital in metropolitan Washington, D.C. My portfolio includes film production, anti-aging products, healthcare consulting, emotional intelligence coaching and training, national and international real estate development and more. I am Host and Producer of a new radio show called Mind of an Entrepreneur that broadcasts weekly in metropolitan Washington, DC and streams live and on-demand around the world.
