Hugh Turley, as a volunteer columnist for the Hyattsville Life and Times, is a winner of the National Newspaper Association award for best serious column, small-circulation, non-daily division. David Martin is twice winner of the Lawrence R. Klein Award for best Monthly Labor Review article by an employee of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Vladimir Kats was his co-writer for the second article.
