After his brothers set out searching for gold, Luke Bailey is left at home, eager for his own adventure.
Scouting land for a new ranch, Luke's journey takes him to Shackelford, where his quiet strength and sense of justice quickly get him in trouble. Pinning on a deputy's star, he finds himself facing challenges far beyond what he imagined.
After discovering the body of a murdered rancher, Luke falls in love with the rancher's daughter, Gina, but a ruthless carpetbagger is looking to seize their land.
Armed with the skills he honed in the Cedar Creek war, Luke is ready for battle. And this time, he's fighting for love, land and honor.
A western set on the gritty American frontier, THE MAKING OF A MAN is the third book in the Bailey Clan Westerns by Terence Newnes.
