Using engineering pens in a combination of line and pointilism, then layers of watercolor washes, she creates very luminous color and depth in her paintings, making them seem to glow. While her work has spread to many US states and several areas of Canada and the UK, the Museum of Art and Whimsy in Sarasota, Florida, selected nineteen of her originals for their Permanent Collection, unique for an artist so new to water colors. Judi has been a caricature artist for most of her life, creating black and white whimsy pieces which have been published as cards, coloring books and for private collections. She has also experimented with mixed media and 3D art using various types of clay and acrylics. She is truly an artist who uses her creativity, realism, passion and artistry to make whimsical, touching, humorous paintings that uplift and lighten the soul.
