Author Biography
I like asking "What if?" because that is how The Love Scrolls began. Now, I have combined the first seven books of this rhyming epic series into this 700 page anthology. My reputation in college was affirmed when the poetic versus they asked me to recite at the lunch table turned into a realization. A fellow student from the performing arts class asked me to write a poem which was to be read before they performed that very evening. In about four short hours I wrote a poem called "The Gap Between Us". After seeing the response from the audience with some individuals even standing, I knew I was on to something great.
In 2003 I was named Poet of the Year and Shakespeare award of excellence recipient, an award I again received in 2005. In my first book review by ForewordClarion Reviews' they used words like "an admirable feat", "energy and emotion", "trappings of the classical literary ballad", "humor", "lighter and lyrical poems" to those with "serious thoughts" to describe some of my work.
It all started with "What if?". What if I take my love of great stories and great poems, and combine them into an epic that is at once deep and complex but accessible and easy with bite sized poems? What if this became more than just an epic? What if it became a mission, a mission to restore love? Then it becomes a journey. This epic is that journey because love is something worth fighting for, and there is no greater challenge, cause, or purpose under the sun. So to save a marriage, to save a soul, to make peace, to restore the bonds of family and God, and indeed, to preserve humanity itself, I present to you The Love Scrolls.
