Product Description

by Charles E. Hayes (Author)

Before Kit Carson. Before Jedidiah Smith and before Jim Bridger trapped, hunted and explored, the example had been set for them. Men like Elisha Walden, William Blevins, Daniel Boone and Donald Warren left the safety and comfort of settled areas to hunt, trap and explore the land west of the Appalachian Mountains. These half-horse, half-alligator men braved nature and Indians and helped open up Kentucky and Tennessee for settlement.

Author Biography

Charles E. Hayes served in the United States Air Force for 24 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant with a Master's Degree in Education. After leaving the Air Force, he taught for seven years. He is an avid researcher and re-enactor as well as a full time patriot. When not helping veterans and veterans' families with the Keavy Kentucky chapter of the Disables American Veterans (D.A.V.), he writes full time.
