Twelve feel-good stories of love, family and friendship set in the English Lake District, which have all previously appeared in The People's Friend. If you enjoy warm-hearted stories with a satisfying ending, these are for you. - An initially unwelcome passenger brings a new perspective to a marriage proposal by Coniston Water. -A couple discover a hidden tarn with a secret life of its own. -A trek in the Langdales causes tensions between two friends. -A would-be Victorian poet falls for a Lakeland shepherdess. -A broken-down car on an isolated fell road helps a young woman put the past behind her. 'Rebecca Holmes is a favourite writer with People's Friend readers, always providing an entertaining, satisfying story with a strong emotional heart and the kind of well-developed characters that make you care about them.' Shirley E. Blair, Commissioning Fiction editor, the People's Friend magazine.
