Product Description

by Sinclair Maclay Sallie Sinclair Maclay (Author)

The Villa was charming, but life in post-war Italy was anything but serene Where else would it make perfect sense to park the car inside the house? Sallie's Italian lessons hadn't prepared her for the need to say "I have a gun and I'll shoot " But she coped, adapted, observed it all with wry humor, and wrote this memoir of the ups and downs of life in the House of the Four Winds.

Author Biography

Sallie Sinclair Maclay grew up on a Montana ranch, and met her future husband, Frank Brutto, in the University's School of Journalism. When their first child was just three months old, Frank was assigned to Europe as a War Correspondent. After five long years of separation, the young family was reunited at last in post war Italy, where they made their home for the next sixteen years. Sallie passed away in 1992, leaving behind the unpublished manuscript of The Lady Is Delicate.
