The story is centered around a young woman who is six months pregnant, it is New Years Eve, December 31, 1945, on the warm and hot night in the United States Virgin Island. Everyone is in a festive mood, celebrating the Last day of the New Years. This young woman was sitting on the waterfront, not celebrating, but sat there with tears remains down her face as he hover (my father) was being stowed away on a ship bound for Paris unknown. It is unclear when he told his woman of his plans, but the idea of leaving this woman six months pregnant was downright the Harbor Charlotte Amalie at Twelve p.m. that New Years Eve, the spirit of this young departed her body.
