This is probably one of the MOST VALUABLE set of books ever published on Arkansas Families. There are 7 volumes to the set, of which all have been reprinted by SHP, inc. with a NEW FULL NAME INDEX at one point in time. This book is broken into two main sections. The first is devoted to the history of the counties, while the second section contains biographical sketches of some 1,250 individuals and genealogical data of some 4,750 other families/individuals for the following counties: Arkansas, Crittenden, Cross, Lee, Monroe, Phillip, Prairie, and St. Francis. The New Index that was perepared for this reprint edition contains the names of over 17,500 individuals. Many of these biographical sketches of these early pioneers date well back into the early to mid 1700's.
