Product Description

by Sandra M. Wentzel (Author)

My inspiration to write about my early years came from reading Laura Ingalls Wilder"s book ""Little House on the Prairie,"" from her life story in the late 1800s, and the TV series "" The Waltons,"" which took place during the 1930s to 1940s.

Both wrote their stories from journals and diaries they kept based on their true-life experiences. am writing these short stories as I remember them and what family members have told me. All the events are true and did happen, and they are all based on my true-life experiences.

I tried to set the stage for each story the way it happened in my mind. I do not remember anything between the ages of one and three. After the first three years, all the events I write about happened between 1954 and 1965. In the 1950s, my mind was not on keeping a journal or a diary.

The fifties were an exciting time to be alive. It was the era of rock and roll: Elvis, The Beach Boys, Chubby Checker, and many other artists were making their daily appearances on TV programs like American Bandstand.

I just wanted to be part of the excitement. Looking back, I wish I had kept a journal, making this book easier to write.
