Author Biography
Femi Pedro is a successful entrepreneur and avid investor with substantial investments in banking, real estate, information technology, manufacturing and hotels and hospitality sectors. He is also a Banker, Politician and a mentor of young entrepreneurs . He is the current Chairman of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), a Federal Government apex agency for Small and Medium Enterprise sector. He is also currently the Pioneer Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Trust Fund (LSSTF). He began his professional banking career at the Central Bank of Nigeria, before subsequently becoming one of the co-founders and seed investors at one of Africa's pioneer banks - Guaranty Trust Bank (GT Bank) - at the age of 32. Within ten years, he became the Managing Director of First Atlantic Bank (FinBank) after acquiring the bank with a consortium of investors in 1998. He served as Managing Director of the bank until 2003, when he was nominated by the Governor of Lagos State - Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu- to serve as the Deputy Governor of Lagos State and subsequently elected into the same position alongside Asiwaju Bola Tinubu In May, 2003.. Femi Pedro is also a philanthropist and has supported many charities and NGOs. He was a recipient of the Major Donor Award by the Rotary Foundation among several awards and recognition. He's a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, and Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria. He is a devoted Christian and active elder at the Guiding Light Assembly, Ikoyi. Lagos. An avid and passionate golfer, he is happily married to Honorable Justice Jumoke Pedro and they are blessed with Four Children and Three Grandchildren
