Lupita lives near a volcano. This year has been a year of changes. Lupita's great-grandmother stopped speaking. The volcano became more active. And Lupita's own power is awakening.
Lupita struggles to concentrate on her homework, with her loud family. She struggles at school because she is shy and Nilda steals her lunch money every day.
