Author Biography

Lisa Aiken was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Loyola University of Chicago. In the 1980s, she was the Chief Psychologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, and has had a private psychotherapy practice for 30 years. Dr. Aiken has lectured for diverse groups in nearly 200 cities worldwide, and has written 11 books. These include: To Be A Jewish Woman, Guide for the Romantically Perplexed, The Art of Jewish Prayer, The Hidden Beauty of the Shema, and The Baal Teshuva Survival Guide. In addition to her other professions, Dr. Aiken has been a licensed Israeli tour guide since 2004.
