Product Description

by Denis-Pierre Filippi (Author), Silvio Camboni (Illustrator), Gaspard Yvan (Colorist)

An historic steampunk action-adventure, inspired by the world of Jules Vernes' books.

Every day after school, cousins and fellow mecha-maniacs, Naomi and Everett work on machines in their hideout-treehouse. Coded elevators, ships, and more! In the backdrop, the world is at war and mysterious giant robots are attacking both sides... Everything changes for our heroes when Naomi's parents pull them from school--Everett's father is missing and their new nanny, Amelia, is not quite who she appears to be. Can the kids stay safe, find Everett's father, and continue inventing?

Find out in this beautiful graphic novel, inspired by the fantastically adventurous stories of Jules Verne.

Author Biography

Denis-Pierre Filippi has been passionate about comics since he was eight years old, when his father made him read Spirou. Filippi is the writer of Orull the Cloud Maker, Songes, Gargouilles, John Lord, Marshall. More recently, he's published Ethan Ringler, Federal Agent; The Corsairs of Alcibiades; New World; The Extraordinary Voyages; and Terra Prohibita. When he is not writing, he sometimes leads writing workshops in libraries and schools--including the IUFM (University of Music and Music). Filippi's dream is to merge writing and teaching through his work with children, both young and old.

Silvio Camboni began a career in comics and illustration in 1989, working for Walt Disney (on Topolino, as well as other Disney publications in Italy and abroad). With Denis-Pierre Filippi, he took over the drawing of the Gargouilles series and created the series Les Mondes Cachés (Humanoides Associés); then still with Filippi, he created the series The Extraordinary Voyages and drew two unpublished Mickey stories at Glénat: Mickey and the Lost Ocean and Mickey and the Land of the Ancients. In October 2022, he began the first volume of a new astral series, Prima Spatia, which addresses ecology and the preservation of species. Resides in Italy.

Born in 1988, Gaspard Yvan studied graphic arts and comics in Bordeaux. After completing his studies, he worked primarily as a colorist and illustrator for publishers such as Glénat and Humanoïdes Associés. In 2021, he launched his first comic book series as an illustrator: The Last Shadow (published by Vents d'Ouest). He lives in Angoulême.
