Product Description

by Gail Elliott Downs (Author)

Step back in time to the 1940s and delve into a World War II Mystery involving B-24 Liberator bombers, the men who flew them, and the women who waited for their safe return. This is a tragic yet triumphant tale of how a team of youthful detectives were able to piece together a story of young love. Separated by war - reunited by death.

Author Biography

Gail Elliott (Thomas) Downs is a retired elementary school educator with thirty-seven years' experience as a classroom teacher, reading specialist and school librarian. She grew up in an Army family and became an Army wife, but had little knowledge of the 15th Army Air Corps activity during World War II. As the Black Suitcase Mystery project unfolded, Gail learned, right along with her fifth-grade students, about World War II aviation and the missions flown by B-24 Liberator bomber crews. Gail currently resides on the Oregon Coast and is available to give presentations about the Black Suitcase Mystery. Contact may be made by emailing Gail at: blacksuitcasemystery@gmail.com.
