Product Description

by Dale Cox (Author)

One of the last signfiicant Southern victories of the Civil War, the Battle of Natural Bridge preserved Tallahassee's status as the only Confederate capital east of the Mississippi River not conquered by Union troops. Fought along the banks of Florida's St. Marks River, the battle was an impressive Southern tactical and strategic victory. This book has been hailed as "the standard history of the Natural Bridge raid and battle."

Author Biography

A native of the small Northwest Florida community of Two Egg, Dale Cox grew up immersed in the history of Northwest Florida, Southwest Georgia and Southeast Alabama. He is the author of numerous books on Florida and Southern history. His other Civil War volumes include "The Battle of Marianna, Florida" and "The Battle of Massard Prairie: The 1864 Confederate Attacks on Fort Smith, Arkansas."
