Author Biography

David Forgacs is the endowed Guido and Mariuccia Zerilli-Marimò Chair in Contemporary Italian Studies at New York University. He is coeditor of Antonio Gramsci Selections from Cultural Writings and editor of Rethinking Italian Fascism.

Eric J. Hobsbawm was Professor of Economics and Social History, Birkbeck College, University of London. His books include Industry and Empire and The Age of Extremes, among others.
