Product Description

by Kim Eugene Hood (Author)

The idea of pilgrimage was initially just a reason to travel. I had spent the last twenty years climbing and trekking in mountain ranges on all seven continents. The mountaineering portion of my life became an integral part of my identity. In 2001 I completed the journey, not the grand idea (summiting the highest peaks on all seven continents) but one adjusted with the reality of my capabilities (trekking and climbing in mountain ranges on all seven). Over dinner and several beers, a friend described his recent trip to India and visits to two sacred temples. I couldn't stop thinking about India and became intrigued with the Hindu pilgrimage Char Dham. It and other pilgrimages called to me. I was in need of another life goal. I eventually went on to visit the sacred mountain Kailash in Tibet and walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain. These experiences would change my life and open my heart.
