All this during his seventies through nineties. Because in his younger years he was an Indian fighter, outfitter and guide, businessman and hunter on par with the likes of Davy Crockett, who sought out his friend McKinney on his way to the Alamo. To the people who settled Texas, there was a storied roll of legendary statesmen whom they honored: Houston, Travis, Austin, Bowie, Crockett... and McKinney.
Author Biography
Eric M. Nishimoto is a multi-award-winning writer, commercial artist and strategic communications consultant, and an adjunct professor at the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas. He was named a Mayborn Biography Fellow in 2013. Prior to moving to Texas, Eric was a California law enforcement spokesman and frequent contributor to national and international news media including CNN, FoxNews, AP, BBC, CBS, NBC, ABC and national entertainment media. Before that he was a communications and marketing consultant to a number of Fortune 100 companies. But mostly he's married to Pamela and father to Nathan and Lucas. And alpha dog to Chief and Sophie Joy, their two dachshunds.
