Author Biography
Nell Johnson earned her M.A. in Professional & Technical Writing at the University of Memphis, Memphis, Tennessee. Working as a technical writing instructor for over a decade, and in the private sector as a technical writer for 14 years, Johnson can teach--and apply--her trade. Always a proponent of clear, honest communication, Johnson considers passing on the skills of effective technical writing and workplace communications to be her lifework mission. Johnson teaches online sections of technical writing at Portland Community College, in Portland, Oregon. She has recently taken up ballet. Mary Sylwester has taught composition and literature for over twenty years: in Iowa, Maryland, and Oregon. She has a Ph.D. In English from the University of Iowa. Sylwester currently teaches composition and technical writing classes at Portland Community College and Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. She enjoys exploring local restaurants with her husband, leading a community garden near her home, and providing a secure home base for her four children, who keep moving in and out of the nest.
